Peel Away this Past Year and Never Look Back!

December 11th, 2015
By Knoxville Dermatology Group

Let 2015 acne scars, sun damage and fine lines be things of the past when you indulge in one of our MediSpa’s specialized chemical peels. The MediSpa at the Knoxville Dermatology Group provides chemical peels that help improve a variety of skin conditions and issues, including:

  • Rough, dry skin
  • Acne and blemishes
  • Uneven skin tone (brown spots, hyperpigmentation)
  • Sun damage
  • Fine lines
  • Small scars (including acne scars)
  • Aging skin
  • Enlarged pores
  • Rosacea

Chemical peels are safe, topical solutions that typically consist of alphahydroxy acids (AHAs), glycolic acids, trichloroacetic acid (TCA) or phenol. These acids help to exfoliate the skin to reveal smooth, radiant, newly regenerated skin.

Because chemical peels expedite the skin renewal process, it is important to stop the use of any retinoids or other aggressive topical treatments at least one week prior to treatment to reduce the risk of redness and inflammation. After receiving a chemical peel, it is normal to experience skin sensitivity, tenderness and flaking. Our team at the MediSpa will be glad to make recommendations on products that will suit your skin’s needs. With chemical peels, we always suggest the use of sunscreen to protect your skin from the sun’s harmful UV rays.

Are you interested in starting the New Year off with the complexion you’ve always desired? Please call the Knoxville Dermatology Group MediSpa to set up an appointment with one of our medically-trained staff at (865) 342-5823.
