Clark E. Julius, M.D.

Clark Julius Clark E. Julius, M.D. founded Knoxville Dermatology Group in 1971. Dr. Julius is a full professor in the University of Tennessee School of Graduate Medical Education.

He was a medical officer in the U.S. Navy serving in the Republic of Vietnam. He presently serves on the Executive Committee of the Masters Dermatologic Association and the North American Clinical dermatologic Society and on the Editorial Board of Cutis Magazine, New York, New York. Dr. Julius earned his bachelor of science degree from Mankato State College in Mankato, Minnesota in 1961, and his medical degree from the College of Medicine at the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa in 1965. He completed his post-graduate dermatologic training at University of Arkansas Medical Center, Little Rock, Arkansas in 1971. Dr. Julius became a diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology and a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology in 1972.

Dr. Julius is a member of the East Tennessee Dermatological Society, Tennessee Dermatology Society, Knoxville Academy of Medicine, American Medical Association, Tennessee Medical Association, Masters Dermatologic Association and the North American Clinical Dermatologic Society.

Dr. Julius served as chief of staff University of Tennessee Memorial Research Center and Hospital, president of the Knoxville Academy of Medicine, chairman of the board of the Tennessee Medical Association and president of the Master Dermatologic Association and the North American Clinical Dermatologic Society.

Dr. Julius was awarded the University of Tennessee Hospital twenty five year service award, the University of Tennessee Telemedicine service award and State of Tennessee Outstanding Achievement Award in 1996. In 1999 he was awarded the Tennessee Medical Association Outstanding Physician Award and the Distinguished Service Award from the Tennessee Dermatology Society in 2009.

Lawrence L. Bushkell, Jr., M.D.

Lawrence L. BushkellLawrence L. Bushkell, Jr., M.D., earned his B.A. and M.D. from Indiana University, and his M.S. from the University of Minnesota. Lawrence completed his internship and Internal Medicine residency at Harbor General Hospital, UCLA, and his Dermatology internship at the University of Minnesota Hospital, Minneapolis.

A member of the Alpha Omega Alpha medical society, Lawrence was a National Institute of Health Trainee in Dermatology at the University of Minnesota. He is a diplomat of the American Board of Dermatology and the American Board of Dermapathology and a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society of Dermatopathology, American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, American Medical Association, Tennessee Dermatological Society, East Tennessee Dermatological Society, Tennessee Medical Association, Knoxville Academy of Medicine and the American Society MOHS Surgery. He serves on the Advisory Council, American Academy of Dermatology and is an Assistant Professor of Medicine. Lawrence served in the United States Army Medical Corp. in Germany from 1975-1978. He joined KDG in 1986.

Anthony L. Meyers, M.D.

Anthony L. MeyersAnthony L. Meyers, M.D. earned his undergraduate degree from The University of Tennessee and his M.D. from Medical College of Georgia where he also completed his dermatology residency. Anthony is certified by the American Board of Dermatology, and he joined KDG in 1978. A member of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery and the American Academy of Dermatology, Anthony holds appointments as a Clinical Assistant Professor at The University of Tennessee and at U.T.M.R.C.H.

Matthew C. Hanggi, M.D.

Matthew C. Hanggi

Dr. Hanggi attended East Tennessee State University and completed his internship at the University of Virginia. He completed his dermatology residency at the University of Virginia and is Board Certified by the American Board of Dermatology. Dr. Hanggi is a member of the following professional organizations: the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, the American Society for Mohs Surgery, the Tennessee Dermatological Society, and the East Tennessee Dermatological Society. A fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, Dr. Hanggi is a member of the Tennessee Medical Association as well as the American Medical Association

George C. Keough, M.D.

George C. Keough

George C. Keough, M.D. earned his B.S. degree from the University of Notre Dame and his M.D. from the University of South Florida College of Medicine. He completed a Psychiatry internship at the Tripler Army Medical Center, Honolulu and his Dermatology residency at Brooke Army Medical Center, Fort Sam Houston. Certified by the American Board of Dermatology, George has been with KDG since 2007. Before joining KDG, George held the position of Chief of Dermatology Service at Eisenhower Army Medical Center, Ft. Gordon. He is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology and the East Tennessee Dermatology Society.


Lee B. Dittrich, M.D.

Lee B. DittrichDr. Lee B. Dittrich earned his B.S. degree from the University of Tennessee and attended Wake Forest School of Medicine for his M.D. He carried out his internship at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro and performed his dermatology residency at the University of Virginia, Charlottesville, where he was Chief Resident in 2002.

Lee is a member of Phi Eta Sigma, Gamma Beta Phi, Phi Kappa Phi, Beta Gamma Sigma and Golden Key Honor Societies. He is also a member of Alpha Omega Alpha Honorary Medical Society. A diplomat of the American Board of Dermatology, Lee is a member of the Knoxville Academy of Medicine, Tennessee Dermatologic Society, East Tennessee Dermatology Society and the Tennessee Medical Association.

Brooke Nix, PA-C

Brooke NixBrooke Nix, PA-C earned her B.A. from Maryville College, followed by her B.S. from University of Nebraska Medical Center Interservice Military Physician Assistant Program and her M.A. from University of Nebraska Medical Center Dermatology specialty. Brooke is a member of the Psi Chi Honor Society and the National Alpha Delta Honor Society, and she completed her PA internship at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs.

Brooke joined KDG in 2004, and is certified by the National Committee on Certification of Physician Assistants. She is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, American Academy of Dermatologists, American Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants and the Tennessee Society of Physician Assistants. She has completed extensive training in Botox, Restylane and Intense Pulsed Light, and was the Top Restylane Injector for 2005. Brooke is a member of the United States Air National Guard; McGhee Tyson ANGB, April 1999- present.

Amy Browning Milke, PA-C

Amy Browing MilkeAmy Browning Milke, PA-C earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, TN and obtained her Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies from The University of Florida College of Medicine.

Amy joined Knoxville Dermatology Group in January 2011 and brings her years of experience as a Dermatology Physician Assistant and several years of experience as an Emergency Medicine PA.

In addition to being a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, Amy is a member of Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants and Tennessee Academy of Physician Assistants.

Paul Maben, PA-C

DittrichPaul Maben, PA-C earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from University of Pittsburgh and obtained his Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Chatham College Physician Assistant Program in Pittsburgh, PA. Paul joined Knoxville Dermatology Group in July 2011 and brings to the team several years of experience as a Physician Assistant for a dermatology practice and medical day spa.

In addition to being a member of the American Association of Physician Assistants, Paul is a member of Society of Dermatologic Physician Assistants.
